Aloha! New Aulani Resort Vinyls

We saw photos at Mickey's Circus, but now, in full 360 product shots, here are the 2013 Aulani Resort 3" Vinylmation.

Mickey and Minnie are ready for vacation. Mickey in his best Hawaiian shirt and Minnie holding a sno cone. They will be sold separately at the resort for $14.95 each. They are marked as open edition, so they should be there for a while... you know, if your trip to Hawaii isn't until next year or something. If your not traveling across the Pacific any time soon, the trading sites always have a few generous Hawaiians that will pick up figures for trade to mainlanders.

Changes to Release Schedule

Disney updated the Events page of the Disney Vinylmation Blog today and with that, came a couple date changes. The Pixar Tuck and Roll combo, still listed as LE 1000 by the way, has been moved from December 28 to January 4.

Also, while Disneyland will still get the open edition 2013 figure on December 28, Walt Disney World will have to wait until the following Friday. Due to an early release in Hong Kong, we thing the Open Edition 2013 figure will be this one...

And on February 1st at the Aulani Resort in Hawaii, the following Mickey and Minnie figures will be released.

They are LE 1500 and retail for $14.95. This is a clarification as well because the way Disney originally listed these items did not make sense.

Mickey's Circus- Aulani Resort

Two new figures for the Aulani Hawaiian Resort. These two are by Maria Clapsis and the expected release is December 2012.

Aulani Press Exclusive Vinylmation

As if being in Hawaii wasn't enough of a treat, it appears that members of the press at the Grand Opening of the new Alunai Disney Resort received a special treat in their goodie bag. This news is unconfirmed as of this moment, but here is an excerpt of a post by Goonie that we found on the Vinylnation forum:

"So... hate to share this, but I just returned from Disney's Aulani's grand opening in Hawaii. Select press attendees staying at the resort were given a special present after the Grand Opening Presentation. A numbered and limited hand-painted Vinylmation by a Hawaiian artist housed in a 2-piece custom hand-made wicker box wrapped with a Disney's Aulani Grand Opening sleeve of paper. Inside is a printed description and numbering. Artistically, they are definitely an acquired taste... but are EXTREMELY limited. (These are not the for-sale Menehune ones from the store -- the are very crudely hand painted)"


Sounds like an eBay hit to me. We still have not seen any of these pop up anywhere and as of this post, no pictures have been found on the net.

Aloha New DVC Resort Vinylmation!

On August 29 a new DVC resort opens in Hawaii, Aulani. To commemorate this resort, Disney will release an open window 3" Vinylmation. 

It will only be available at Kelepa's store at the Aulani resort and will retail for $14.95.

There was no official word, but with no word on LE and now markings on the box about an LE, we assume this is a limited released. Meaning it should be on shelves for a good time to come. There is also no specific word that you have to show your DVC member card to purchase this figure.

Disney calls this figure Menehune-inspired. Menehune are said to be a people, sometimes described as dwarfs in size, who live in the deep forests and hidden valleys of the Hawaiian Islands. I like the style of this figure and the facial expression is cool, but I would have also liked an Aulani logo on the back. What are your thoughts on this newest member of the Vinylmation family?
