With the holidays right around the corner it makes sense that we have received a preview of the upcoming Cutesters Snow Day Vinylmation series. I wish these would come out before the holidays, they would look so adorable next to my other Christmas decorations. This series is a must have for me.
First we have what at first glance I thought was a snowman, until I looked at the other side of the figure and saw a tail. This brings me to believe it is a Narwahl. A Narwahl is a medium sized whale that lives year round in the Arctic. Which makes perfect sense for the Snow Day series. The Narwahl is simply adorable.
Then we have the seal with ear muffs. I love the addition of ear muffs to this figure, the baby seal obviously needs them to stay warm on a snow day!
The next figure I think is one of my favorites. The cloud with snowflakes falling down. Here in Southern California we don't any snow but I will say, if we did I hope it would have an adorable smile and look as perfect as this figure.
Then we have the owl wrapped in a warm scarf, who looks warm and ready to play with his other snow day friends.
Caley Hicks did a great job with the deer and fox figures. They have such cute faces and I love that the deer is getting festive with a holiday sweater and that the fox has paw print gloves.
Next we have the polar bear in a festive sweater and ice skates. I love the ice skate addition to this figure. I love the Mickey and Minnie set released last month that had the ice skates as well. I think it is a really fun addition to these winter themed sets.
Last but not least we have the chaser. I love that Maria Clapsis decided to use the Minnie Mouse platform for this figure. Not only is the Christmas tree smiling and adorable but she has a bow on the top of her head. Now I know that the figure has a clear bow but I still love that she decided to put the tree on this platform. It really adds character. The Minnie shoes serve as the tree trunk and she has adorable gloves on to keep her warm while she goes to play with her other Snow Day friends.
I think this is a great addition to the Cutesters series. I loved all the beach/summer themed series and it's great to see another season. I can't wait to head over to D-Street on January 17th to get these and add them to next year's holiday decor.
Happy Holidays everyone!!

Wild West Explained
Wild West
Release Date: April 20
Disney Stores
Artist Signing with Gerald Mendez and Enrique Pita at the Sun Coast Plaza Mall in Costa Meza, CA on April 20 from 10am-1pm.
Update 04/02/13 We added photos from Disney of the set.
Update 04/01/13 We added photos from Vinylmation Exchange of the remaining 6 figures off the side of the tray.
Update 03/29/13 Zoe sent in some up close photos of each figure. This is where the Disney Store shines!!! Back to doing a Disney Character-centric set. We never questioned the talent of the DS artists, just the choice of designs they produce. They have a command of the Mickey platform when drawing characters on the canvas. We just want them to be DISNEY! You may not purchase this particular set, but this is what the average VM collector wants to see from these artists. The colors are wonderful. The use of ears with the various western back drops are perfect. The biggest plus is that they changed them up. And the accessories? Among the best we have ever seen. Just take a look...
Zoe was walking through the South Coast Plaza Mall in California today and happened upon this poster:
Looks like the Wild West series may be a smaller open window series similar to Disney Tunes. But a close look at the fine print mentions "purchase of a tray", so I am not sure at this time. The series seems to be set for a Disney Store release on April 20th with an artist signing with Gerald Mendez and Enrique Pita from 10a-1pm at the South Coast Plaza Mall. We do expect the nation wide release over the same weekend.

| Pluto First of all, they used the Furry Friends/Whiskers Tales paws! This may be my favorite Pluto. I love he just took a bite out of the bad guy's pants. The "V" star belt is a wonderful touch. |
|
| Mickey He is the sheriff. Disney Store makes the most amazing hats. The chewing on the wheat is a perfect touch. And I love that the artist used an old school Mickey. |
|
| Minnie Mouse The bonnet is another great accessory by the Disney Store. She has the old school like, just like Mickey. Disney Store does the characters so well... some of the best mouse faces we have seen in Vinylmation. |
|
| Donald Donald as an Indian is just spectacular. The expression the DS artists give to his face in all his figures are the perfect way to draw him. It is very hard to make the duck bill work, but they always do. The feather head dress! What can I say? I can not wait to have this one in hand. Then, in the ears, you can see the wild west landscape with cactus and teepees. |
|
| Daisy As much as I'm not a Daisy fan, the design here is a lot of fun. She looks like a performer in a wild west saloon. The clothing and feather in ear are great. Love the star background as well. |
|
| Clarabelle Great addition of a classic Disney cow into this western series. |
| Horace Another one with Furry Friends paws. Great choice of the classic Disney horse into this set. | |
|
| Goofy Crazy eyes. |
|
| Huey, Dewy and Louie It's about time we get Donald's nephews into a set. Three 3" figures here. Wonderfully themed as Indians to fit in with Donald. |

ZoMG: Cutesters en Vogue Review
Hello everyone. I know it has been awhile since I have written an article for Destination Vinylmation but I am SO HAPPY to be back. Let’s get into a subject that I am extremely excited about, Cutesters En Vogue.
Cutesters En Vogue will be released today, Friday March 29th. This will be the very first time we see the BRAND NEW Vinylmation “Minnie Mouse” platform, with the dress silhouette, bow and of course Minnie’s high heeled shoes. I personally cannot wait to see the new “Minnie Mouse” in person.
Let’s go through the line up,
First we have the Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany’s looking Vinylmation, which is a personal favorite of mine. I love the Breakfast at Tiffany’s reference as well as the use of the bow for the bun on top of her head. Also love the eyelashes on this one, she’s very girly.
Next we have the girl in a light pink cap sleeved dress with pearl necklace and bracelets. She has a big pink bow on top of her head and her blonde hair is pulled back. This one reminds me of a ballerina.
Next we have the cat with a big yellow bow on top of her head and a pink and yellow floral collar. The Minnie Shoes have little paws on them, so adorable.
Then we have the flapper looking girl with a red fringe dress and long chain of pearls. I love the feather headband on her as well as the pouty red lip and winky face. She is definitely one of my favorites.
The Pink Poodle is simply adorable. With the happy puppy smile and big black bow that accents her black and pink collar.
Next is the girl in the yellow mod looking dress with bold front bangs. I love that they gave each girl her own era. The polka dot ears and bow are a great touch. This figure will also have a variant version in a turquoise blue colored dress.
(variant)
Another one of my favorites is the puppy in the purse. This is such an out of the box design; I think it’s adorable. It reminds me of my dog when I carry her around. I also LOVE the dog bones in the ears of the Vinylmation. SO CUTE.
(Variant)
Lastly we have the CHASER. The chaser is a floral design with a pink bow on the front. This one almost reminds me of a bouquet or even a veil going down the back. I’m not sure why they chose to NOT make a girl the chaser to go along with the theme but the flowers are very cute and do tie into the set well. The floral design also has a yellow variant.I am really looking forward to this new set of Cutesters Vinylmation. I have also been a big fan of the Cutesters Series since they started and I am excited to see them taking a new direction with the series by making it an 8 figure set instead of 12 and using the new “Minnie Mouse” platform. This is the perfect place to start this platform off and I cannot wait to see it in person FINALLY on Friday.
I think overall the set is cohesive and was really well designed. I love the Minnie from what I have seen and I think it is going to bring great opportunities for figures to come. I also enjoy that they have given each girl her own unique personality/style.
Everyone make sure you head to D-Street in California/Florida or to your local Disney Store and pick up a Cutesters En Vogue!

Disneyland Cast Trader Variant Found
If you recognize the fingernails, you'll know it's Zoe found this vinylmation when trading at D-Street in Disneyland. It seems to confirm our suspicion that the silver variants are Cast Traders. The other figure looks like this.
So it looks like at least one of the variants is now out and in trade boxes! For more info on the Disneyland Series check out this post:
Congrats to Zoe for being (as far as we know) the first person ever to receive this variant! If you receive the D Silver variant, please let us know!

Park Starz Preview DROPS Into D-Street
Zoe was walking by the Vinylmation display at D-Street Anaheim today when she spotted this little guy...
It is a Tower of Terror Bellhop in what appears to be the form of a Park Starz. Presumable a design for the Park Starz series 2 (no release date yet). He has a bellhop hat and is holding a suit case. I love him! How exciting is it to get a glimpse into a Future Park Starz series! The idea to go with a ghostly figure over that of a human is a great choice. I'd expect to see Series 2 this fall or winter, in the mean time take a look back at Park Starz Series 1: Explained page and Photoshoot at WDW.

ZoMG: Disney Store Light Up Set Review
This past Monday May 28th, the Disney Store 25th Anniversary Light Up Vinylmation was FINALLY released! I thought these guys were never going to see the light of day after what happened with Furry Friends, but thank goodness they pulled through because they are BEAUTIFUL.
I wasn’t really looking forward to this set, except for the fact that we got our first 3" Princess (which I have been waiting for forever!) But this set has honestly blown me away. Let’s start off with the box, the box design is awesome. It ties in perfectly with the rest of the Disney Store 25th Anniversary merchandise and the coloring really stands out.
I bought 5 blind boxes and one Sorcerer Mickey that came with the light up stand. I know that during the actual Disney Store Anniversary, the Mickey and light up stand were given to Cast Members as a gift. I thought that in doing this they would get rid of the bad quality ones and sell us Vinylmation fans the newer and better quality ones... I was wrong.
Let’s talk about Mickey. I’ve seen reviews that people had done on how the paint lines were not up to par and there was some smudging. The Mickey I purchased has some flaws but I wasn’t too disappointed since he wasn’t the only one I wanted from the set. But for some reason they decided to leave Mickey the way he was in the first batch of this series that surfaced during the Disney Store’s Anniversary.
Now as for the rest of the set, it is apparent that they went back in and added more details, cleaner lines, and my favorite part... glitter/pixie dust/sparkle whatever you’d like to call it... onto the figures!!! On the Mickey figure you can see the separation where his body ends and the light up part begins, and in the actual set of 12 figures, you can see they’ve added the sparkle to cover that area up. I wonder why Mickey wasn’t special enough to get his own pixie dust? Maybe the next batch in stores will have it? Who knows, we will have to keep checking.
Let’s talk about the light up base. I like the idea of the figures lighting up but to me I think they could have looked better when turned on. Maybe each figure could have had something that you can only see when the base is on... like how Sorcerer Mickey has a Hidden Mickey on his chest. I’m not saying that I hate the idea of the figures lighting up because it looks super cool. I was just nervous that the set would only look good when lit up, but they look great either way!
Now on to the actual set. I am in LOVE. This is hands down one of my absolute favorite Vinylmation sets in all the years I have been collecting. I’m not being bias because I finally have my very own Vinylmation Princess figure (please take note other artists, include Princesses PLEASE!). I honestly really love this set from ears to feet.
Of the 5 blind boxes I pulled, I got Eeyore, Minnie, Dumbo, Buzz and Rapunzel. These figures are absolutely stunning in person. The detail is incredible, the quality is top notch and the best part is that the actual figures these are painted on are sparkly, which makes any clear area full of glitter which I LOVE.
I think that the characters they picked are good ones. We’ve had many Tinker bells this year but I love way artist Gerald Mendez made them his own and went with it. This Tinkerbell is completely different than any one we have seen. The cute little faces are consistent on each figure which makes the whole set flow. It’s a creative and fun play on everyone’s favorite characters and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Now let me break down briefly what I think of the figures I’ve collected so far:
Eeyore looks so adorable, but the only thing missing is his tail. But that’s okay because that’s normal for him to misplace it.
Buzz is awesome. I love the expression on his face and the details on all sides of him are perfection.
Dumbo is the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen. I love that in one ear he has his little yellow hat and also if you look on the sides you can see his cute little ears flapped down. He doesn’t want to outshine the iconic Mickey ears you know.
Sorcerer Mickey is great. I love the hat and his expression is cool too. I love the little hidden Mickey you can see when he is lit up!
Minnie Mouse is so cute, the face is adorable. I love the little smirk she’s giving. Also the bow is removable and she’s just darling.
Last but not least Rapunzel. She is everything I would have wanted in the first Princess 3 inch Vinylmation. She’s pretty, her hair is flowing, her face is so cute and her dress looks perfect on the mold. She is perfect!
This is great set to represent the Disney Store’s 25th Anniversary. It’s fun, full of great characters and looks awesome. I would definitely recommend stopping at your nearest Disney store, making a trade or shopping online for at least one of these.
