RoE: Dated 2014 Sorcerer Mickey

Dated 2014 Figures
WDW, DLR, HK and DLP
WDW and DLR have a 12/13 release date and $12.95 price.
All Blind Box and Open Edition with Variants
Variant Odds: 1 in 10
There will be a separate figure for each of those four parks that will be exclusive to that park.

Regular (right) and Variant (left, clear) for Disneyland Paris

Walt Disney World

Disneyland

Walt Disney World

Disneyland Paris

Hong Kong Disneyland

Update: It looks like there are red hat variants. Could this point to a blind boxed figure like Food and Wine with a special number of variants?

Update: We took a closer look and here are the differences. Park Icons in the robes and Disney Park Logos on the back of the head.
It looks like this year's experiment for 13 figures for 2013 didn't work out well enough to try it again next year. Although, I can not tell from this angle, but I think each park might have a slightly different figure, which would mean at least four (slightly) different figures.

Did you collect any of the 2013 figures?

Nightmare Before Christmas Series 2 Released at Hong Kong Disneyland

Since Nightmare Before Christmas Series 2 was released at Hong Kong Disneyland before the states, we had to turn towards eBay for a look at the complete set plus the chaser.

I absolutely LOVE the Clown with the Tear-Away-Face as the Chaser! Best design in this series. And a closer look with these more high quality photos than we have seen before, I actually enjoy this series. Very well done.

Annual Passholder Vinylmation Now Worldwide

by Nickolas Lam

Hello DestinationVinylmation fans, my name is Nickolas Lam and I am a new contributor to this website. I am excited to be joining this awesome website, and I will bring you exciting new articles about Vinylmation. Please enjoy my articles and I hope it helps the community.

Ni hao! If you live near Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Resort Paris, there is a new Vinylmation for you guys. The Annual Passholder Vinylmation for HKDL has a yellow Mickey balloon in the head, like the Disneyland Resort Vinylmation. It has the clear outline globe, and the blue and green balloons on the bottom. It has a small edition size of only 300.

The Disneyland Paris AP's edition size has not been released, however, the size will probably be 300 or 3000 like the others. It has a blue Mickey balloon for the head. The bottom balloons are blue and green, reminiscent of the Disney World Passholder Vinylmation. It was released on Saturday in the Disney Village in Paris

Hong Kong Cast Trader, hold the Variant

Interesting news from the Hong Kong Disneyland Facebook today. They just posted this picture as an ad for trading at their park. They are calling this figure a Cast Trader. As far as we can tell it's a cast trader, not a cast trader variant. The two variants to the Disneyland 6 figure set are silver. One has the D on it and the other has the 55. This is neither silver, nor the D or 55 figure. That means the figure is not a variant (it looks exactly like the figure we've seen advertised in Disneyland CA) but rather a figure that can only be picked up (in Hong Kong) buy trading with a cast member.

Very interesting for Disney to use out of region vinyls are special cast traders at Disneyland. What do you think? For more on this set go to: Disneyland 6 Figure Set

Hong Kong New Year 2012 Vinylmation

The Hong Kong Facebook page has release pictures of some New Year 2012 Vinylmation that were released on December 1 at Hong Kong Disneyland.

The page said they will retail for $95 HKD and $110 HKD. That converts to about $12.23 USD and $14.16 USD. No differentiation between them as to which are more, but I would assume the 2 with the added Mickey Ear Hat would cost the extra two dollars. I personally like the black design with all the characters and I don't like the Mickey Ear Hat topper. But I do wonder if they pull off to reveal any design underneath? Will you ring in the new year with some Hong Kong 2012s?

Chinese Zodiacs Released in Hong Kong

Exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland, a set of 12 open window 3" Chinese Zodiac figures were released on November 21. They cost 120 Hong Kong Dollars per figure witch works out to about $15.40 USD. A little steeper than we have seen for a non-LE or a 3" not packaged with a Junior.

We had the chance to see these in person at The Florida Project. It is a very colorful design collectively throughout the set. And as you can tell, the are a bit abstract for the animals they represent. Will you be importing these from Hong Kong? For more pictures and info on this set, check out Chinese Zodiac Explained.

Pirates Attacking Stores Sooner Than Expected

According to Disney's Vinylmation blog, Disneyland will now have Pirates series in D-Street on July 1 just as Orlando. Check out our Pirates Explained page for details.
Also, to best both US locations, Hong Kong Disney will see the Pirates series in stores on June 18th! Just days away. So if that Hong Kong Vinylmation eBay seller has some Pirates listed soon, they may actually be legit! (I had to, sorry). Here is the picture posted on the Hong Kong Vinylmation page:

A Perfect Pair

Two Mickeys One Broom

Straight from Hong Kong

This weekend we got a nice surprise in the mail (well okay, we paid a lot of it, but we're gonna call it a nice surprise). Our 3" vinylmations from Hong Kong flew all the way from Asia. Between Dumbo and his feather, and Sorcerer Mickey and his magical hat, they made their way to our homes for some pictures. Check out the picture above, the figures came in the new (and much hated) boxes, we prefer the tins.
Check out the back sides of these figures. Both have a reference to the 5th Anniversary Celebration that is the event these vinyl were released for. Also notice the hidden Mickey that the magic glitters form on Mickey's back.
Check out the bottom of each figure. They both say "Hong Kong Disneyland" and reference the "Celebration in the Air" 5th Anniversary Festival. Notice that neither figure mentions an artist. That fact still eludes us. (Also pictured is the platform from the bottom of the boxes.)
Here is the Hong Kong 9" Castle Vinylmation. Check out the great castle on top. With a great silhouette of Mickey in the body.

On the back of the head is another castle (that makes three), a giant 5, and the words "Celebration in the Air"

What are your opinions? How much would you pay for each of these?

Farther around the world to "keep collecting" (Hong Kong Vinylmation)

The latest rumor (unconfirmed, but the flyer looks like it's from Disney) is that Hong Kong is getting it's own exclusive Vinylmations. They will be part of the 5th Anniversary Celebration called, "Celebration in the Air".

The 9" Castle Mickey is a Hong Kong exclusive. It will be a Limited Edition of 1000 and only available in the stores in Hong Kong Disney. The price will be HK$500 (~64 US$) and will be released on Jan. 21st.

The Sorcerer Mickey is similar to the one that came with our Combo Park 5s, except he isn't winking, but his face seems to be the only change. The flyer claims this is out yesterday (Jan. 6th International Date Line thing!) and will cost HK$135 (~17 US$).

The most interesting, to me, is Dumbo! He comes with a cute little hat, and this is the first time we've seen Dumbo in Vinylmation form. Dumbo will also be released on Jan. 21st and will cost HK$135 (~16 US$).

If anyone is over in Hong Kong, we'd love some of these!

Here is the flyer we got the info from. Click to enlarge.
