Pretty all lit up

That is for sure Rupunzel! Finaly a 3" princess! And Bambi is also confirmed.

Update: 12/23/11 Nick here. I was sleeping last night when MC found and posted this amazing news. I complain a little about the perceived direction of Vinylmation where too many sets are coming out and many sets are just taking the Characters and stuffing them into generic, mass appeal sets. And I get that from a corporation POV, Disney needs some of those, but they seem to demean the hobby as a whole in a way that is hard to describe. But this set... BLOWS ME AWAY. Just look at the artistic detail on Mickey and Buzz's faces! Wow. This set just has so much creativity and magic that I can not wait until January 30th! I will be releasing my Top Ten headlines of 2011 next week, and this set proves on of my points.

Today vinylmation.com also revealed a whole new series. This series will be a Disney Store series that celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Disney Stores.

Jim Valeri, who is a great guy and whom we never see enough vinyl from, has designed this whole series. It looks like the series will be a 12 figure blind box set with 11 known figures and one mystery chaser. It will hit Disney Stores on January 30th, 2012.

This series also includes a special Sorcerer Mickey and a stand that lights the vinyls up when put on them. (Evilos also mentioned that it could light up other figures. I can't wait to put my DLR Passholder Ariel on it.)

Rapunzel

The first 3" Princess. Perfect use of the hair to frame the face instead of stretching it. Kudos to Jim Valeri!
Tinker Bell

Blond hair. Light green dress. Again, great use of hair to dress the face. Best Tink so far?
Bambi

Our first vinyl of the famous deer. I really enjoy the way the ears are painted.
Dumbo

No accessory hat this time. And the face looks a bit younger and more animation style. The shading Jim Valeri uses really sets this series apart from others. The trunk looks just plain awesome.
Goofy

M.C.: A standard, although of the dogs, I prefer Pluto.

Nick: Look at those cheeks! And the character in the eyes. The most well designed Goofy to date.
Pinocchio

M.C.: No donkey ears, so I suspect no tail either. (Although a tail that lite up would be cool!)

Nick: The face fits the series style well, but I think it looks a litte squished. And the blue bow tie kind of distracts from design.
Grumpy

Disney's go to dwarf for merchandise. That face is downright spectacular. The huge oversized nose and the the way the hat drops down over his head. Perfect character.
Eeyore

I really like the inclusion of Eeyore. Especially as the only representative from the 100 Acre Woods gang. Pooh and piglet have vinyls, now Eeyore. Are we overdue for a whole set? Face detail is amazing.
Minnie

The two classic Disney characters had to be included. Minnies bow is a detailed addition. Best bow we have seen because of the detail put into it. Her face style matches Mickey's.
Mickey

The famouse mouse with a different than normal button eyed look and little smile. Very cartoonish and I like it!
Buzz Lightyear
It looks like he's fading into the light on his feet. Interesting take, and he looks small despite the 3" size. It will be interesting to see how his helmet reacts to the light.
Chaser

Who could it be? Pink Elephants would look good here. Or Ghost Obi-wan. But would they really redo a past chaser? Stitch? There is no Donald? I think it might be someone for whom this "illumination" really works well with.
Sorcerer Mickey
by: Gerald Mendez

He's not part of the 12 figure set. You will have to purcase Sorcerer Mickey seperatly and that is how you will get the light up base. Unlike the button eye Mickey above, this one uses Mickey's real facial features and wonderful shading to create a face right out of the animatied movie.

Love the hat! This accesory goes above and beyond what we have seen out of hats. It has a curved rum and a folded over tip to give it real character. Glad the light gets that far up.
